Introduction by Zesty Meyers, essays by Glenn Adamson and Tony Ingrao, and a conversation between Jeff Zimmerman and Brett Littman
For over three decades, artist Jeff Zimmerman has pioneered new possibilities for glassmaking, creating sculptural objects and installations that engage with light and space in extraordinary ways. Published in collaboration with The Monacelli Press, Jeff Zimmerman: Glass Light Space is an expansive new monograph that celebrates the groundbreaking work of one of today’s most innovative glass designers.
The book provides an abundant overview of the past decade of Zimmerman’s work, offering an in-depth exploration of his visionary contributions across the worlds of craft, contemporary art, and interior design. Heavily illustrated with over 200 stunning photographs, the book showcases a wide array of the artist’s sculptural works, lighting designs, and installations. The work is organized within six collections–Crumple, Pleat, Grow, Cluster, Sprawl, Multiply–each presented in a dedicated chapter with exquisite complementary photography. The throughline in these projects is Zimmerman’s interest in natural patterns and processes, which appear in the work as visual echoes of blood vessels, rivers, branches, crystals, and caves.
